The Local Wellness Policy outlines DCPS school health and wellness policies with the goal of positively impacting student health and educational outcomes and supporting the needs of the whole child. It conveys DCPS' approach to ensuring environments and opportunities for all students to practice healthy eating and physical activity behaviors throughout the school day and sets goals for physical and health education, physical activity, and other school-based programs designed to promote student wellness. It fulfills federal and DC requirements on local wellness and applies to all students, staff, and schools in DCPS.
