Chancellor Kaya Henderson issued the following statement today after the Office of the State Superintendent of Education released the findings of their investigation into the 2012 DC CAS.

District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) Chancellor Kaya Henderson issued the following statement today after the Office of the State Superintendent of Education released the findings of their investigation into the 2012 DC CAS.

"The results released today by the OSSE confirm what we at DCPS already know: nearly all of our teachers, more than 99 percent, are following the very strict procedures and protocols we have in place to prevent testing impropriety. We do not tolerate cheating at DCPS. We take every allegation of testing impropriety seriously, investigate accordingly and take personnel action when warranted.  DCPS received final information about the OSSE’s test integrity investigation this morning. At this point, we are not able to make any comment about the specifics of their findings as we have not had a chance to fully review the results of their investigation. But where cheating is confirmed, we will swiftly take the appropriate disciplinary actions.

“In two weeks, DCPS students will take the 2013 DC CAS and we will continue to implement the necessary precautions to ensure the highest level of testing integrity. We are pleased that this is yet another investigation that confirms that there is no widespread cheating at DCPS. We appreciate the OSSE’s hard work put forth in conducting this investigation.”
