(WASHINGTON, DC) — Starting this month, DC Public Schools (DCPS) will initiate the public engagement phase of its next five-year strategic plan by holding listening sessions with members of the DCPS community. Families, students, staff, and District residents are invited to join interactive listening sessions that will take place in-person at schools and virtually online in September and October.

“DCPS values the ideas and opinions of all our students, families, and staff across the district,” said Chancellor Lewis Ferebee. “As we strive to be a school system focused on educational equity, we seek the feedback of our stakeholders, so their priorities can be reflected in our strategic planning process and set our future roadmap for the district.”

DCPS Strategic Plan Listening Sessions for Students

A virtual session for all DCPS students will take place on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. RSVP here.

In October, students attending Anacostia High School, Cardozo Education Campus, and School Without Walls will participate in listening session designed just for their respective school communities.

DCPS Strategic Plan Listening Sessions for Staff

Listening sessions for just DCPS school and central office staff will also take place this fall.

After listening sessions conclude this fall, DCPS will review all input received and share a five-year strategic plan draft for feedback during the winter and spring months. By Summer 2023, DCPS looks to finalize the next Capital Commitment before the start of the 2023-2024 School Year.
