(Washington, DC) – On Wednesday, December 20 at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser and Chancellor Lewis Ferebee will visit Kramer Middle School in Ward 8 to recognize students’ improved attendance with a pizza party and lunch discussion. During the visit, Mayor Bowser will have lunch with a group of students chosen for either perfect or most improved attendance and discuss their thoughts and ideas for supporting middle school students. 
This recognition comes as Kramer Middle School registers a year-to-date attendance rate of 88.69% and a 100% immunization compliance rate.

Going into winter break, the Mayor is also encouraging families to take advantage of programming through the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and other District agencies that will offer young people safe and engaging activities from December 23 – December 30. While many activities are open to young people of all ages, DPR is also hosting “Teen Break Time” programming which will specifically provide teenagers with safe spaces to gather, socialize and play.
