Several colleges were scouting Roosevelt High School senior Salahudeen Nurul-Haqq after seeing him run track, a sport he’s done all four years of high school. Despite having a team of just four people, Sal says he and his teammates have placed in multiple championships: “Other schools had 20 to 30 kids on their team, so as a team of only four, we each had to do a bunch more.” At the University of Maryland Eastern Shore next year, Sal plans to study sociology and communication to hopefully start an advertising business in the future. “I like to ask questions. I’m a blunt person. I like to talk to people…sometimes I talk too much,” he says with a smile. He’s most excited to experience new things and take this important step ahead in his future. #DCPSGoesToCollege
