Noyes Elementary School
Kermit Burks is the new principal at Noyes Elementary School for School Year 2017-2018. Prior to the principal role, he was an assistant principal at Noyes for two years. Before coming to DCPS, he worked as an IB coordinator and special education coordinator with Alexandria Public Schools. During his time in Alexandria Public Schools, Burks helped the Jefferson-Houston K-8 School achieve International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme authorization in 2013. Burks received his bachelor’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation and his master’s degree in elementary education from Troy University. He also earned an education specialist degree in educational leadership from Old Dominion University.
