Assistant Principal
Garrison ES

Tamyka Morant is the assistant principal at Garrison ES. Along with the principal, she is responsible for articulating and leading the instructional and cultural vision for the school and working with multiple stakeholders to ensure every student has the opportunity to achieve at high levels. Previously, she served as an instructional coach manager in DCPS supporting an average of 14 instructional coaches per year.

The mission at Garrison ES is to ensure that every student reaches their full potential through rigorous and joyful learning experiences provided in a nurturing environment. During the 2017-2018 school year, Garrison is working to ensure every child receives the academic, emotional, and social support they need to be successful. Through the Fellows Program, Dr. Morant hopes to strategically leverage current and prospective partners to support Garrison’s priority of ensuring effective interventions for all students, both during the school day and in the afterschool program.
