Today, at his weekly press briefing, Mayor Vincent C. Gray will join DCPS Acting Chancellor Kaya Henderson in launching Blue Ribbons for DC Teachers, a public awareness campaign initiated by the DC Public Education Fund that is aimed at celebrating the great teachers of DC Public Schools.

The Blue Ribbons for DC Teachers campaign kicked off Teacher Appreciation Week, and will continue throughout the summer leading up to “A Standing Ovation for DC Teacher,” an annual event that honors and rewards DCPS’ highly effective teachers. The initiative asks the DC community to wear blue ribbons in support of our teachers. Blue ribbons will be distributed to the public beginning May 2.
